St. Therese became the first Catholic Church in Van Zandt County on August 25th 1981 serving the entire county. It was established as a Mission Church with a group of 30 families. In March, 1997 construction of the new church began and Bishop Edmond Carmody consecrated St.Therese mission to a parish. Parish has grown from original 30 families to over 300 families today, with three deacons to assist the priest.
It is a great retirement community located equally between Dallas and Tyler, TX with family and friendly atmosphere. It continues to grow under the leadership of Bishop Alvaro Corrada of the diocese of Tyler, and our current Pastor Rev. Selvaraj Sinnappan. We are looking forward to future growth both spiritually and materially under the patronage of St. Therese Lisieux.
